NFL fans spot Jaxson Dart’s ‘extremely rare’ trick New York Giants new quarterback performs before throwing ball

NFL fans noticed an unusual trick made by New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart before throwing the football during a practice.

The move by Dart comes weeks after he was drafted in the first round by the New York Giants in the 2025 NFL Draft last month.

Dart will have it tough to find a path toward being the Giants’ starting quarterback in the upcoming season.

The 22-year-old Ole Miss product is behind veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston on the depth chart.

But Dart could have a trick up his sleeve after a clip went viral of the youngster during rookie minicamp at the Giants’ team facility last week.

A video showed Dart dropping back to throw, but before he threw the football, he pump-faked and spun the ball in his hands.

He proceeded to throw an accurate deep ball to wide receiver Beaux Collins.

NFL fans spotted Dart’s trick on social media.

“This is lowkey pretty bad***,” one wrote.

“Dart got a little swag to it,” another commented.

“This is extremely rare… most quarterbacks do not do this,” a third added.

The Giants’ goal will be to develop Dart, who showed flashes in college but will have to work on his mechanics.

Dart’s flipping of the ball could be looked at as a bad habit.

He spun the ball during his college career.

But Dart’s habit seems to be for comfort, and would only be viewed as a negative if he’s performing the action while a pass rusher is after him.

Luckily for him, he fumbled the ball just 14 times in his four years at college.

The Giants moved up into the first round to draft Dart with the No. 25 overall pick.

They used their No. 3 overall selection to take Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter.

Dart will also compete with Tommy DeVito in the quarterback room.

The New York squad will hope to rebound from their disappointing 3-14 season.
