“I love the material, waistband, colours and pattern. I’ve been looking for a trouser like this for ages”
Linen trousers are a go-to style in summer, designed to be breathable and cooling on the skin. Made from a natural fibre, they can be a little pricey but this is not the case at Next.
The high street retailer has slashed the price of a pair of linen trousers to less than £20, for a limited time. Originally £44, shoppers can bag the Teal Green Wide Leg Trousers with Linen for £17, offering a saving of £27.
The show-stopping trousers feature a vibrant floral print that cascades down the leg, which has a trendy wide silhouette. They’ve been crafted from a linen and viscose blend and feature an elasticated waist which is perfect for those who are prone to bloating, especially after lunch.

While the matching top is currently sold out, the trousers would work equally as well with a loose-fitting blouse or tight tank top. The bottoms also have pockets for those immediate essentials, making them not only a stylish holiday addition, but practical too.
We can see these trousers working well on tropical trips and on home soil, paired with sandals and sunnies or trainers and a denim jacket. Adding a pattern into your fashion rotation via trousers like these is such an easy way to zhuzh up an otherwise boring outfit.
Next isn’t the only high street shop championing this sort of style, with White Stuff’s Belle Linen Wide Leg Trousers on sale for £35 down from £69. They are made from 100% linen and feature a bold print cascading up the leg.

Elsewhere, Roman’s Blue Leaf Linen Blend Wide Leg trousers are on sale for £25 and have been praised for fitting ‘really well’ and having a ‘beautiful design’, however, some people found them a little too long.
As for the Next trousers, shoppers have been loving their style and fit with a number of five-star reviews glistening with compliments. One person said: “Love the trousers, true to size, great for all summer.”
Another added: “I love the material, waistband, colours and pattern. I’ve been looking for a trouser like this for ages,” meanwhile a third said: “Lovely flowing cut, very flattering. Can’t wait to wear these when the weather is better.”
“Great fit with a beautiful flow. it fits lovely and I am very happy with this purchase,” said another happy Next shopper.
While these glowing comments were referring to the more patterned styles, it seems the colour block designs haven’t received quite as much love. The more natural hue has received three and four-star reviews, one of which stated: “Thin and see-through material. I intend to return them. Disappointed.”
Another wrote: “Nice loose but lightweight fabric it’s ok but I brought a pair few years ago quality is better.” Although the black shade has been a little more successful, garnering some admiration from shoppers, one of whom said: “The trousers are lightweight and perfect for summer weather.
“I think they are true to size (I purchased the size 8), and are the length I like.” They did offer a word of warning: “But for anyone under 5 foot 6 inches may be a little too long. The material is a bit see-through, so they are best worn with a longer top.” So keep that in mind when purchasing.
