Newfoundland and Labrador sent out more provincial immigration invitations to eligible candidates this week.
Invitations were sent out through the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).
This round of selections represents the province’s fourth selection round since having shifted to an Expression of Interest (EOI) process for both these programs.

On June 24, 2025, the province held two draws:

A combined 320 invitations were issued across both programs—the second lowest number of invitations issued by the province since it began publishing draw results this April.
In its previous selection rounds, Newfoundland and Labrador invited, across both programs:
- 405 candidates on May 29;
- 328 candidates on May 8; and.
- 256 candidates on April 3.
In 2025 thus far, the province has issued 1,095 invitations through its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and 214 through its AIP—for a combined total of 1,309 provincial immigration invitations.
Like other provinces and territories, Newfoundland and Labrador saw the federal government cut its allotted spaces for economic immigration programs this year.
In February of this year, however, the province negotiated an increase of 1,000 nomination spaces to its 2025 PNP allocation. Originally, the province only received a 1,050 nomination allocation for its PNP (down from 2,100 in 2024).
Its allocation under the AIP will be maintained at 475 spaces.
Newfoundland and Labrador has 1,216 nomination spaces left for its PNP, and 261 spaces left for its AIP.
Newfoundland and Labrador’s EOI system
To be considered for provincial immigration, foreign nationals must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the province’s online Immigration Accelerator.
Many candidates will require an employer invite code. These codes are required to validate the candidate’s job offer and to ensure that Designation/Job Vacancy Assessments are being used correctly.
All provincial immigration candidates must submit this code to submit an EOI—except PNP candidates living in Canada.
EOIs remain valid in Newfoundland and Labrador’s system for a period of 12 months after submission.
If there are any changes to the information provided in an EOI, foreign nationals have must update their profile.
If an individual is selected for an Invitation to Apply (ITA), they will be notified via email. From the point of EOI submission to receiving an ITA, no updates on one’s status are provided by the province.
Once an ITA has been issued, recipients (or in the case of the AIP, their employer) must submit an application for provincial immigration within 60 days.
Before this new system was implemented, foreign nationals had been able to apply directly to the province.
Obtaining an ITA is not a guarantee of provincial immigration. Foreign nationals must be admissible to Canada, meet all program requirements, and abide by all provincial policies for their application to be approved.
