While they’re not 100% identical, they bare striking resemblance to Dolce & Gabbana’s Embellished Thong Sandals
Now that the sun is shinning, Brits up and down the country will be looking to ditch their trainers and boots for footwear more suited to the warmer climate. If last year’s sandals are looking worse for wear, or you just want to add another pair into your collection, it’s worth heading over to New Look.
The high street has a whole host of gorgeous sandals to choose from and three’s one pair in particular that caught my attention immediately when browsing the website. The Gold Faux Leather Shell Charm Sandals come in at £27.99 but look a lot more expensive.
In fact, while they’re not 100% identical, they bare striking resemblance to Dolce & Gabbana’s Embellished Thong Sandals. The high-end sandals would set you back a cool £582, or £806 when they’re not in sale, meaning you’re potentially saving more than £530 by picking up the New Look pair instead.

The Dolce & Gabbana sandals may come with brand name prestige, but I think the New Look pair are a lot prettier. Available in sizes four to nine, the gold sandals feature gorgeous gold shell and starfish charms with a gold-tone buckle.
What’s more, the £28 sandals are part of New Look’s comfort range, which means they feature cushioned padding and flexible soles to ensure each step is comfortable. .They’re finished off with a round toe and t-bar strap.
The sandals also differ in their construction. The designer pair are made from goatskin while the New Look sandals are crafted from a vegan leather, making them more affordable and easy to clean without any fuss.
While the Gold Faux Leather Shell Charm Sandals are yet to receive any reviews on the New Look website, they’re guaranteed to be a stunning pair you’ll reach for time and again this spring and summer. One thing to note is that they don’t come in half sizes, which may be something to keep in mind.
And don’t worry if you’d prefer a classic flip flop design. Next stocks these £45 Sosandar Natural Shell Detail Leather Sandals and they’re a great alternative to the New Look pair. Or there’s the Elowen Kitten Heeled Sandals with Starfish Embellishments, available for £35 from ASOS.
