Wednesday fans finally have a release date for the long-awaited second series
Netflix has sent fans into a frenzy after finally releasing a trailer and release date for the second series of Wednesday.
Wednesday is Tim Burton and Netflix’s reimagination of the classic movie series The Addams Family in a modern setting, starring Jenna Ortega as the eponymous Wednesday.
When she takes a prank too far, Wednesday gets kicked out of her school and sent to Nevermore, a boarding school for outcasts where monsters and spirits lurk aplenty.
Three years have passed since the first series was released, back in November 2022, and finally a release date has been announced for the second series.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Netflix shared the trailer alongside a post that reads: “Back in black. From visionary Tim Burton, Wednesday Season 2 premieres this summer. Part I August 6. Part II September 3.”
The trailer opens with Ortega as Wednesday emptying her bag of weapons as she prepares to go through airport security, before returning to Nevermore school for her second year.
Fans have flooded the comments section, racking up more than 700 replies in 24 hours. The response is varied, but one theme is consistent. Wednesday fans are asking: why split it into two parts?
