Italian designer Edoardo Lietti has created Sisto, which is a furniture system that embraces elements of simplicity and versatility. It also perfectly blends Italian craftsmanship with modern visuals. The system was meant to be a versatile wooden chair and has evolved into a multifaceted system depending on how it is positioned.
The standout component of the Sisto is that it is made from only six pieces of plywood. The furniture features exposed fasteners to hold the jointed pieces of plywood together. This method is simple and straightforward to emphasize the honesty of the material, but also brings attention to its effortless charm. Lietti noted that this “functional and sculptural piece of furniture” was inspired by the throne.
