People said they ‘all know what it really is’ when the innocent chocolate treats were shared online
The festive season may have wrapped up, but retailers are already lining up their goodies for the next big occasion, Valentine’s Day. M&S shoppers have spotted some cheeky offerings intended to mark the love-filled holiday.
The seasonal selection boasts an array of fancy chocolates – but one particular treat has raised eyebrows. Within the Snack Reviews Facebook group, the retailer’s ‘Love Struck’ sweet was snapped with packaging that describes it as a solid milk chocolate replica of Cupid’s arrow.
It caused quite a stir, with shoppers perplexed by its shape. One joked: “Are they cream filled?” Another said: “The heart looks kind of like a… you know!”

A third asked: “Is it only me, or do these look like they should be sold in Ann Summers?” Another thought: “M&S knew exactly what they were doing with this!”
A fifth comment read: “That’s no cross and arrow! We all know what it really is!” Someone else quipped: “Can’t wait to see Aldi version!”
The 2025 Valentine’s Day selection includes more than just controversial chocolate, reports the Daily Star. It’s all showcased on the M&S website, and many items are already popping up in stores, nestled between treats geared for Easter and discounted Christmas leftovers.
For those looking to indulge early, there’s an array of sweet delights, including chocolate-coated berries and a biscuit-making kit. There’s also the dapperly dressed Spencer Bear—a hollow chocolate figure adorned with dark chocolate decorations and a red heart stamped with his initials.
Marks and Spencer also offers another unusual treat – the Appealing Banana for £3.75. The milk chocolate banana shape is filled with creamy butterscotch. Some people were baffled by the flavour choice, with one commenting: “Come on M&S, why not make it banana flavoured? It’s right there!”
A spokesperson for the retailer said: “This Valentine’s we’ve got a great range of gifts for all, from exquisite and luxurious to a bit of fun (yes, the puns are deliberate!) Whatever the product, we lead on quality because when we say this is not just food, this is M&S Food, we really mean it.”
