Mother’s Day is just around the corner, with the annual occasion taking place on Sunday, March 30 this year. Liverpool is a city that goes above and beyond when it comes to celebrating our mums – and this year is set to be no different, with a number of restaurants and bars hosting special events for the day.

Whether it’s set menus, afternoon tea packages, slap-up roast dinners or free drinks, there are plenty of options to choose from, and lots of venues still have availability to book now. While some families might fancy a day out on the town, enjoying drinks and dancing with their mother figures, others might prefer a more chilled Sunday of food and live music.

We rounded up some of the meals and deals on offer across Liverpool which you can still book for Sunday, March 30. There are plenty of ways to make your mum feel special and show her how much she means to you with food, drinks and entertainment.

Panoramic

Liverpool’s highest restaurant, Panoramic, is home to an afternoon tea with stunning city views. With both luxury and traditional options available, guests can enjoy a handcrafted selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes that are freshly baked in-house each day.

Set with majestic views across Liverpool city centre, Panoramic’s luxury afternoon tea is £45 per person and includes a glass of Prosecco, wine, or a cocktail created by one of Panoramic’s mixologists. The traditional afternoon tea includes a choice of tea or coffee alongside a selection of sandwiches and cakes and pastries.

For customers who don’t fancy an afternoon tea but still want to make the most of the incredible views, Panoramic’s new Aperitivo Tower is available from 11-8pm, made up of oysters, croquettes, cured meats and other delicacies for £40. Panoramic’s cocktail and bar menu is available for bookings and walk-ins, and the evening Prix Fixe is available for a fine dining experience.

For all bookings, mums dining will receive a complimentary small box of luxury chocolates.

The Ivy

This Mother’s Day, The Ivy Collection is celebrating mums and mother-figures with the launch of a two or three-course set menu, complete with a floral, Raspberry Bloom Parfait dessert created by The Ivy’s chefs for the occasion. Guests can also choose The Ivy’s afternoon tea, which can be elevated with Champagne to make the day extra special.

Exclusively available from March 28 to 30, the set menu will be served alongside a bunch of tulips for gifting on the special day. Among the starters, guests can choose from a selection of Ivy favourites from French onion soup to the famous crispy duck salad, garnished with roasted cashew nuts and sesame.

When it comes to mains guests can choose from the chargrilled halloumi with harissa grains, served with red peppers and courgettes, red chilli, pine nuts, and micro salad cress with herb dressing. Also on the menu is the fillet of sea bass with smoked aubergine.

To round off the meal, guests can choose from The Ivy chocolate bombe served with vanilla ice cream, honeycomb and hot caramel sauce, or the creamy crème brûlée with a caramelised sugar crust.

The Mother’s Day Set Menu is priced at £28.95 for two courses and £34.95 for three courses.

Frederiks

For everyone wanting to celebrate the mother figure in their life , Fred’s is honouring them with a day full of music and celebration. The Hope Street venue is offering a three course roast served from 12pm, with meaty, veggie and vegan options, including Fred’s sticky toffee pudding.

There will be live vocal performances throughout the afternoon by Daisy Gill, who was on Tom Jones’s team on BBC’s The Voice in 2023. Describing herself as “a scouse bird who makes retro pop-bops”, Daisy will be joined by SoulDays DJs including guest GloryTo with rare groove, soul funk and disco sets. The special menu is priced at £29.95 per person.

The Reader

You can treat your mum to a Sunday roast served in the gorgeous, restored grade II-listed Georgian-style Mansion House set against a backdrop of Calderstones Park in the spring, surrounded by daffodils and trees in bloom. Live music will soundtrack the afternoon.

On the menu is a choice of three starters, two mains of pan chicken supreme or cauliflower steak with all the trimmings, finished off with raspberry Eton mess or chocolate caprice cake. There are mini portions for children.

The set menu is priced at £40 for three courses or £32.50 for two courses. For children it’s £15 for three courses or £12 for two.

The Watering Can

The Watering Can’s Mother’s Day extravaganza starts with a three course set breakfast menu complete with a champagne cocktail on arrival, home-made pastries, a hearty breakfast, sweet treats, tea and coffee and a small token gift all for £32 per person. Breakfast choices include a full English or vegetarian breakfast, or shakshuka.

If a Mother’s Day lunch treat is on the agenda, the venue has a four-course menu with fizz on arrival and live music to make the afternoon extra special for £47 per person. Guests can enjoy nibbles and then starters including a Stornoway Scotch egg or a roasted cauliflower steak. Main courses include roast Goosnargh chicken supreme or a Nut Roast. A selection of desserts are also available including Sicilian lemon posset, Baileys tiramisu or vegan carrot and pistachio cake.

The Mother’s Day lunch will be accompanied by live music from Berian Miles, who will be singing a repertoire of modern and contemporary classics to make the afternoon go with a swing.

Lunyalita

This Mothering Sunday, Catalonia-inspired restaurant Lunyalita will be offering diners the choice of a special Mother’s Day Banquet as well as their traditional a la carte menu complete with a resident flamenco guitarist playing from 1pm-2:30pm. Plus, all mums dining in Lunyalita on Mother’s Day will receive a special gift from Lunya’s onsite deli.

Botanico

Set in the heart of Woolton Village, Botanico will celebrate Mother’s Day with different offerings from breakfast and brunch to afternoon tea, made fresh on-site. There’s also the option of Botanico’s signature Sunday Roast and evening bistro menu. To make Mother’s Day extra special, all mums dining will receive a complimentary small box of luxury chocolates. Botanico is open from 8.30am until 9pm.

The Bentley

The Bentley events and entertainment venue, based in Brunswick Street, has hosted thousands of events from cabaret nights to Grand National parties – but no weekend is as big as Mothers Day in the venue’s calendar. The venue now treats Mother’s Day as a three day event, running from Friday, March 28 to Sunday, March 30.

The venue’s pre-Mother’s Day shows include a Cilla Black tribute act, with tickets priced at £27.50. Doors will open at 12pm, with afternoon tea served from 12:30pm. The first half of the show will start from 1:30pm, with an interval and second half, before the show closes at 4pm.

The Titanic Hotel

The Titanic Hotel is hosting a champagne afternoon tea, where the food will be paired with three flights of Lanson Champagne. Prices at £48.50, the afternoon tea is available on Saturdays and Sundays throughout March. There will be live music on Sunday, March 30 and pre-booking is required with a £10 per person non refundable deposit.

Al Dente

Located at the top of Lark Lane, Al Dente will celebrate Mother’s Day with its traditional a la carte menu, as well as a special two course Sunday lunch including a roast for £29.95. Starters include soup of the day, chicken liver pate, calamari and halloumi fries.

Guests can enjoy main courses of garlic and lemon chicken thighs, rosemary infused lamb and oregano and bay leaf roast beef.

Dobbie’s

Dobbie’s Garden Centre in Speke is combining an afternoon tea with a seasonal planting workshop. The Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea and Planting Experience will take place from Friday 28 to Sunday 30 March at the Liverpool store. Guests can celebrate the arrival of spring in style as they explore a selection of new plants and flowers to create an outdoor planter bursting with vibrant seasonal colour.

Attendees will enjoy a 90-minute experience that begins with a relaxing luxury afternoon tea. This treat features three tiers of sweet and savoury delights, plus unlimited tea and coffee refills. The luxury afternoon tea offers an assortment of freshly made finger sandwiches, including soft cheese and cucumber, egg mayonnaise with watercress, and ham, rocket and red onion chutney.

Customers can also enjoy Dobbies’ scones, served with Cornish clotted cream and a pot of jam, and a delicious selection of sweet treats, including a gin and raspberry cheesecake, Victoria sponge with vanilla buttercream, red berry and matcha Battenberg and macaroons dipped in white chocolate.

After enjoying afternoon tea, guests will head to the plant area in the Liverpool store where Dobbies’ Green Team will host a Q&A and guide them through creating a seasonal planter to take home. Each guest will receive gloves and all the tools they need, as well as a Cotswold planter made of 100% recycled plastic and a variety of spring plants. Tickets for the event are priced at £45 per person.

Dwntwn Function Room

Dwntwn Function Room on Harrington Street in the city centre is hosting a Mother’s Day Ball for £30 per person. Taking place between 1pm and 6pm, guests will receive prosecco on arrival and enjoy live entertainment, a DJ and a buffet.

Families can indulge in a delicious Sunday roast with all of the trimmings, or even the sharing roast for £40 for two people complete with multiple meats, roast potatoes, vegetables, rich gravy and Yorkshire puddings. Il Forno’s classic a la carte menu will also be available including authentic Neapolitan pizzas and pasta dishes, as well as fish and steaks. All Mums dining will receive a complimentary small box of luxury chocolates.

Albert’s Schloss

Albert’s Schloss is rolling out the red carpet for the most important women in our lives with indulgent food, delicious drinks, live entertainment, and plenty of surprises to make mum feel like royalty, including a complimentary Rosé Hugo Spritz and a hand-baked treat in a custom Albert’s Schloss box upon arrival. The spritz is a refreshing mix of St-Germain elderflower liqueur and Ferghettina sparkling wine.

The Bold Street venue’s ‘Sunday Service’ roasts will be on the menu, as well as special dishes created just for the occasion. The Sunday Service Choir will be performing soulful tunes, plus live song requests with Motown and soul classics.
