A 17-year-old male from Drummond-North Elmsley has been charged with additional offences involving “multiple youth victims,” the Ontario Provincial Police said Friday.
In a media release, the OPP disclosed that the teen had been initially arrested on Jan. 20 following an investigation into sexual assault allegation and charged at that time with sexual assault, assault, three counts of uttering threats and two counts of assault with a weapon.
The additional charges announced on Feb. 14, stemming from the ongoing investigation, included three counts of sexual assault and one count of assault.
The teen, whose identity cannot be published under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was released from custody on conditions following a bail hearing, the OPP media release said. He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Youth Court of Justice in Perth at a later date.
