He was 15 years older than her at the time of their first meeting, as reported by Extra.
The pair was married until 1985 before divorcing and reaching a $20 million settlement.
Johnny Carson, who died in 2005, was best known as being the host of NBC’s The Tonight Show.
He hosted the program between 1962 and 1992 as part of a television career that spanned more than 50 years.
Joanna worked closely with the charity SHARE (Share Happily and Reap Endlessly).
The organization is the oldest charity in Beverly Hills and was launched by the wives of the Rat Pack.
