Singer Mika Singh has announced that he will reward autorickshaw driver Bhajan Singh with Rs 1 lakh for promptly and safely taking Saif Ali Khan to the hospital after the actor suffered a brutal knife attack at his home on January 16. Reports suggest that Saif has already rewarded the auto driver with Rs 50,000. Mika, however, took to social media, reposting a report about the reward and urging Saif to increase the amount to Rs 11 lakh.

Mika wrote on his Instagram story, “I strongly believe he deserves a reward of at least Rs 11 lakhs for saving India’s favourite superstar. His heroic act is truly commendable. If possible, could you please share his contact information with me? I’d like to reward him with Rs 1 lakh as a token of appreciation.”

In another Instagram story, Mika referenced Saif’s Rs 50,000 reward and urged him to increase it. He wrote, “Saif bhai isko Rs 11 lakh do. He is the real hero. Mumabi auto vala zindabad.” The driver, Bhajan Singh Rana, however, refused to comment on whether he was paid Rs 50,000 by the actor, saying he has promised Saif that it will stay between them.

Earlier, a video of Bhajan Singh narrating his interaction with Saif after the actor’s discharge from the hospital surfaced online. The auto driver revealed that Saif personally called him on the day of his discharge and requested to meet him.

During the meeting, Bhajan was greeted by Saif’s family members, including his mother, Sharmila Tagore, and his children. The family expressed their gratitude, with Bhajan sharing, “They said, ‘Thank you.’” Saif also clicked photos with him and promised to stay in touch, saying, “Let me know if ever you need anything.”

Festive offer

In a previous interview with The Indian Express, Bhajan Singh shared details about the night he transported Saif to the hospital. He said, “They were in such an urgent state that I couldn’t think of asking for money. Having such a big actor sit in my auto was satisfaction enough for me.” Saif Ali Khan was discharged from the hospital on January 22, five days after being admitted. He underwent two surgeries and sustained six injuries, including two deep stab wounds, with one affecting his spine.
