Liam Hammond has been made a partner in the Leicester office of MHA. He is promoted to the senior management team having spent almost 20 years with the company.
Chris Barlow, audit partner in the Birmingham office and chief operating officer for MHA’s Midland’s region said, “Liam’s promotion to audit partner is well deserved, and recognises the expertise that Liam contributes not only within the region but across the firm and underlines MHA’s commitment to developing its staff.”
MHA is a UK-wide network of independent accountants and business advisers – and the UK member of Baker Tilly International. In the last 12 months, MHA has undergone a period of major growth – launching offices in Scotland and Wales for the first time, along with a series of new hires in its Midlands teams.
Liam Hammond has been with the firm since 2006, and has steadily progressed with MHA during his two decades at the consultancy. Having been made director in 2020, he now ascends to the rank of partner. Within his new remit, he becomes a key member of the firm’s senior management team for the Midlands region, which includes Birmingham and Leicester.
Hammond’s client portfolio ranges from small owner-managed businesses to large multinational groups across diverse industries and sectors, including distribution and logistics, pharmaceuticals and hospitality. He also specialises in pension scheme audits, offering in-depth knowledge and assurance to trustees and stakeholders.
Commenting on the promotion, Hammond added, “From the moment I joined MHA they have supported and developed me throughout my career, identifying my ambitions early on and providing opportunities to progress. I look forward to being able to support the next generation of apprentices and graduates joining MHA as they embark on their careers with the firm.”
The news comes hot on the heels of those of Sally Burford and Sam Hyman-Charlesworth who became audit directors late last year. The trio of promotions reflects MHA’s ambitions in the region, as well as its commitment to developing talent in-house.
