Man United issue Amad injury update with seven-word statement in huge Ruben Amorim boost

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim will be desperate to have key winger Amad back from injury soon as the Reds face a crucial stretch of the season.

Manchester United have issued an injury update on star forward Amad.

The winger sustained an ankle injury during a training session in February, which Reds head coach Ruben Amorim said at the time would sideline him for the remainder of the season. The news came as yet another major blow for United in a difficult season, with the forward being United’s joint-second-highest scorer this term, netting nine goals.

Amad was a constant presence in every Premier League match under Amorim until his injury in February. It was a stark departure from his experience under former manager Erik ten Hag, who frequently sidelined the 22-year-old.

And United have now posted an update on X, formerly known as Twitter, with Reds fans eagerly anticipating Amad’s return to action.

“A sight that will brighten your Wednesday,” they wrote, alongside several pictures of the Ivorian working hard in the gym.

Amorim recently shared his belief that the attacker could be available in May. The forward’s return from injury would be a welcome boost for United as they look to win this season’s Europa League to seal Champions League football at Old Trafford for next season.

“Even Amad, we will see in the end of the last month,” Amorim said last month. “I don’t want to say anything but I have the hope to have Amad before the end of the season.

“Lisandro (Martinez) is out. Kobbie (Mainoo) can return. (Harry) Maguire we have to be careful. Manu (Ugarte) will return. I think Luke Shaw and Mason Mount can return also. They are definitely going to return, especially Mason Mount.”
