A man in his 40s has been rushed to hospital with critical injuries after a four-car crash on Sydney’s M4 at Eastern Creek.
The accident happened just before 3pm, with the Mounties Care CareFlight Helicopter landing at a nearby construction site.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man before he was rushed to Westmead Hospital by road.
A female driver in her 30s was taken to Blacktown Hospital in a stable condition.
Two other male drivers, aged 40 and 53, were taken to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing.
Drivers have been warned of major traffic delays and motorists have been urged to avoid the area.
A crime scene has been set up.
Westbound traffic is backed up 13km from James Ruse Drive at Clyde and is slow all the way to Eastern Creek.
