Man arrested in Monongalia County after trespassing complaint

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Deputies from the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department arrested a local man on several felony warrants after he returned to the property he had been evicted from.

Deputies arrested Tommy John Watson without incident Friday following a trespassing complaint at the property then learned he was wanted for several other active warrants.

“The safety of our residents is our top priority. Apprehending individuals who have actively avoided arrest demonstrates our commitment to ensuring a safer community for everyone,” Sheriff Todd Forbes said.

Watson had outstanding active felony warrants for burglary, breaking and entering, and violation of probation.

He will be transported to the North Central Regional Jail following his arraignment.
