Pizza Express will be serving up pies for as little as 33p this week – but diners had better be quick if they want to get in on the deal.

To celebrate its 60th anniversary, the high-street restaurant chain is offering four varieties of selected pizzas at the same price seen on the menu when it first opened its doors on Wardour Street in London’s Soho back in 1965.

If the offer seems too good to be true, there is a catch – diners will have only one hour to redeem it.

Only dine-in customers who order this Thursday, March 27, between 5pm and 6pm, can get their pizza for pennies.

The limited-time offer is available at all 360-plus Pizza Express locations across the UK.

According to the restaurant chain, booking in advance is highly recommended to secure your seat and avoid disappointment.

Diners who do nab a table will be able to order a classic margherita for as little as 33p while the La Reine with ham, olives, mushrooms, mozzarella and tomato will only set you back 48p.

The standard American pizza topped with pepperoni can be ordered for only 45p and if you want to up the spice, you can get the American hot with hot green or jalapeno peppers for just 50p.

Customers who want to upgrade to the bigger, thinner and crispier Romana base can do so for an extra £1.95.

There’s no need to sign up or redeem a voucher to take advantage of the nostalgic sixties pricing –  all you need to do is show up and hope for a seat.

Pizza Express CEO Paula Mackenzie said: ‘In 1965 we brought proper pizza to the UK, and what better way to mark those 60 years than with 60 minutes of our original pizzas at their original prices – see you on the 27th!’.

Those who miss out on the generous offer, need not despair as Pizza Express is running ‘1965 Icons’ set menu this month.

From now until Friday, March 28, you can get any starter and any Classic pizza, including vegan and gluten-free options, for only £19.65.

Choose from tasty starters including mozzarella sticks, calamari or spicy chicken wings as well as any of the delicious dough balls selection.

For the main, you can get any classic pizza like the Sloppy Guiseppe, Fiorentina or Vegan Giardiniera.
