Grindhouse Releasing has opened a gateway to Hell with Lucio Fulci‘s The Beyond on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + DVD + CD.
Limited to 3,500 units, the six-disc “Eye of Eibon” edition costs $66.66 and will begin shipping in April.
The 1981 Italian horror classic has been newly scanned in 4K from the original Techniscope camera negative with DolbyVision HDR.
The theatrical version is presented in 4K with archival 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio surround sound re-mixed by Academy Award winner Paul Ottosson plus the Italian language soundtrack and original mono mix.
The Beyond: Composer’s Cut, featuring a new 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio surround sound re-mix with a newly reimagined score from composer Fabio Frizzi (Zombie), is also included.
The set also includes a DVD with the US cut of the film under the title 7 Doors of Death, a CD with Frizzi’s composer’s cut, an 100-page book, and more in Book of Eibon packaging and a slipcover with new art by Emanuele Taglietti.

A cursed hotel, built over one of the seven gateways to Hell, becomes a malevolent abyss that begins devouring both the bodies and the souls of all who enter in a graphic frenzy of gory crucifixions, brutal chain-whippings, eyeball impalements, sulfuric acid meltdowns, flesh-eating tarantulas, throat-shredding demon dogs and ravenous bloodthirsty zombies.
Written by Fulci, Dardano Sacchetti (Demons), and Giorgio Mariuzzo (The House by the Cemetery), the film stars Catriona MacColl, David Warbeck, Cinzia Monreale, Antoine Saint-John, Veronica Lazăr, and Al Cliver.
The Beyond is the middle installment in Fulci’s thematically-connected Gates of Hell trilogy, between 1980’s City of the Living Dead and 1981’s The House by the Cemetery.
