CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Flood victims in Logan and Wayne counties can apply for individual disaster assistance through FEMA.
Gov.Patrick Morrisey announced Monday night the counties have been declared part of the federal disaster declaration for the Feb. 15-16 floods.
“I’m grateful to the Trump administration for approving my request for recovery assistance in Logan and Wayne counties,” Morrisey said. “The Individual Assistance program will provide relief to those in need and aid our recovery efforts across southern West Virginia.”
Logan and Wayne counties join McDowell, Mercer, Mingo and Wyoming counties who were named late last month. FEMA has already approved more than $1 million in individual assistance grants.
Morrisey said flood victims in Logan and Wayne counties can immediately begin filing for assistance at 1-800-621-FEMA, disasterassistance.gov or by downloading the FEMA app,
FEMA also plans to open Disaster Recovery Centers in the two counties.
Morrisey is still waiting to hear from the White House on his request for public assistance in connection with the flooding.
