A company spokesperson issued a short and simple statement
Liverpool ONE has issued a statement on one of its stores after it was announced many others were closing. Renowned American lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret is set to shut the doors on up to 40 stores this year.
The clothing and beauty retailer’s latest fourth-quarter earning report revealed majority of these would be across the United States.
Between 2020 and 2023, Victoria’s Secret already closed more than 300 stores in the US. However, the once-controversial brand, is also closing its St David’s Centre Store in Cardiff, its only Welsh branch.
The Cardiff store opened in 2016 after many months of excitement. But for now, there is currently a sale on until they close on April 12.
There is no further news of any more UK closures, including of that in Liverpool ONE. A spokesperson for Liverpool ONE simply told the ECHO: “This one isn’t affected”, in reference to the Lower South John Street store.
The store recently moved into a new unit next to Hollister. With this has come a 4,000 sq ft space the brand has been able to utilise after a “significant investment from the brand”. The reopening, which had last October, saw an “incredible” new store design.
The confirmation comes just weeks after Sephora announced the opening date for its Liverpool ONE store, with shoppers expected to queue up for hours before doors open next month.
The new store will move into a 6,727 sq ft space formerly occupied by shoe and sportswear brand Footlocker on South John Street.
Customers will have access to an exclusive range of beauty brands including Makeup by Mario, Haus Labs by Lady Gaga and viral brands Topicals, Glossier, Rare Beauty, Tatcha, Kayali and Glow Recipe.
The extensive and high-quality own-brand Sephora Collection will also be available. There is also the option to enjoy in-store beauty services including on-the-go treatments and an hour-long complete ‘Glam Look’.
After months of anticipation, the Sephora team have finally unveiled the store’s opening date – and shoppers don’t have long to wait. Liverpool’s first Sephora store will open its doors to the public on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
