Legal action fund to block Sadiq Khan’s Oxford Street pedestrianisation voted down

The mayor argues that Oxford Street has become “tired”, with too many shops that are empty or “poor quality”, and not enough “flagship stores”. He says the street has been “failed” by the council, which was under Tory rule until 2022, and claims that pedestrianisation would help Londoners and tourists “make the most of” all that it has to offer.
