World champion boxer Lauren Price has got engaged to her partner Carlie Jones, with the happy couple celebrating the news in a stunning Welsh location.

It has been a joyous start to 2025 for Price, with the 30-year-old from Ystrad Mynach becoming unified welterweight champion by defeating Natasha Jonas by unanimous decision at the Royal Albert Hall last month. Now, there is further cause for celebration in her personal life as she and her new fiancee broke the news of their engagement on Easter Sunday.

In a heartwarming social media post, Carlie revealed that the boxer had proposed to her and wrote: “So many amazing moments led to the biggest, and easiest yes, when my favourite person asked me to marry her.

“My best friend, my soul mate… there’s not a day where you don’t make me laugh and smile, I really do feel like the lucky one by finding my forever person.

“Through every bit of laughter and happiness, challenges and all the quiet moments in between, we have found something so rare, real and special,” she added.

“I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.”

Price popped the question at Edge House in Aberporth, with the clifftop property, which overlooks the Irish Sea, providing a stunning setting for the occasion as the waves crashed against the cliffs below.

The couple then celebrated by popping bottles of champagne and posing for photos on the balcony, before sharing a kiss.

They were then treated to an Easter Sunday feast cooked up for them by Welsh chef Matt Waldron, which they enjoyed with friends and family overlooking the sea views.

Price – who was previously in a relationship with fellow Team GB boxer Karriss Artingstall – has not shared much of her relationship with Carlie on social media, but called her “my girl” in response to a photo of the couple that her new fiancee recently posted.

The news comes after the Welsh fighter was called out by heavyweight world champion Claressa Shield, with the American challenging her to “eat a hamburger” and jump to a higher weight to fight her.

“I want to fight everybody,” Shield told Sky Sports. “We have some new blood on the scene. I’ve seen Lauren Price fight. I was like wow, pretty impressive. Pretty impressive.

“[154lbs] is the lowest I can get. If she wants to fight at 160lbs too, don’t be afraid to get a hamburger and come on up.”

In response, Price said she would “definitely” relish the opportunity to fight Shield, adding: “My full focus is on 147lbs at the minute and becoming undisputed but definitely a fight down the line.

“I would love to share the ring with her, obviously Olympic champion as well. Double Olympic champion, I’m Olympic champion, it’s a great fight to make. Definitely.”
