Islamabad United surged to the top of the Pakistan Super League X points table after dismantling Peshawar Zalmi in ruthless fashion in their latest show of all-round prowess. Powered by a sensational hundred from Sahibzada Farhan and a blistering team batting performance, United posted a mammoth 243 for 5 — the highest total of the season — before sealing a commanding 102-run win with a professional bowling effort on a batting-friendly wicket.
Choosing to bat first, Sahibzada Farhan led the way for United with a blistering 106 off just 52 balls, with Colin Munro and Salman Ali Agha also contributing runs.
Whatever hope Peshawar Zalmi had of getting close to the target faded fast as Ben Dwarshuis sent Babar Azam packing with his very first ball in the PSL. Mohammad Haris, with his gritty knock, was the only Zalmi batter to repel United’s disciplined attack, but his efforts could not prevent the inevitable for too long.
