A property in a ‘quiet residential area’ has been sealed off by police in Southport. The cordon, which extends onto a pedestrianised pathway, is currently in place outside a property on Braemar Avenue this evening, Monday December 23.

Residents in the area have reported seeing a number of forensic officers going “in and out” the property. One neighbour told the ECHO the incident has been ongoing since yesterday (Sunday, December 22). He said: “Since yesterday, last night, there were loads of [forensics]. Three forensics are there and they’ve been in and out.”

Another resident told the ECHO forensic officers had been at the property “all day”. He said: “Forensic people have been here all day. I’ve been out all day – I believe they rang my bell but I was out.”
