A Los Angeles County man was arrested by San Diego Homicide Detectives and is facing charges for the murder of his ex-girlfriend who was initially reported missing.
A 33-year-old Hispanic woman, who has not been identified by authorities, was reported missing under suspicious circumstances on July 15, 2025, to San Diego Police officers with the Southern Division.
During the investigation, San Diego Police detectives reportedly found evidence that led them to believe the victim was dead, and the San Diego Police Department Homicide Unit took over the investigation.
The police department reports Homicide Detectives reportedly learned information that led them to search for the missing woman’s ex-boyfriend who they believe was involved in her disappearance — 48-year-old Eduardo Magana, a resident of La Puente, in Los Angeles County.
San Diego Detectives went to Magana’s home in La Puente, but he was later arrested in a traffic stop in the City of Southgate, then interviewed by SDPD detectives, according to the police department.
Magana has been booked into the San Diego County Jail on suspicion of murder.
