CISF Raising Day 2025: India celebrates CISF Raising Day on March 10 every year to honour the Central Industrial Security Forces of India (CISF), and this year, it will be the 56th Raising Day and be observed on March 10, 2025, Monday.
This year, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah attended the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in Thakkolam, Tamil Nadu, as the chief guest today, with Union Minister Dr L. Murugan and CISF Director General Shri Rajvinder Singh Bhatti also present.
Shah emphasised the crucial role CISF played in ensuring the development, progress, and mobility of the country, including ports, airports, important businesses, tourism, and research institutions, and providing security to critical government and private sectors.

CISF Raising Day: History and Significance
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is the Union’s military force, founded by an Act of Parliament in 1968 (50 of 1968), and was established in 1969.
With specialised security personnel becoming increasingly important in industry and other critical areas, CISF promotes the safety of public sector initiatives, industrial facilities, and government infrastructure projects.
The day recognises the sacrifices and efforts made by CISF troops in protecting the country’s most important resources and is marked by parades, cultural activities, and ceremonies.
