Fashion-forward shoppers are going wild over a $38 item from Kmart, calling it the ‘perfect dupe’ of a sell-out $445 designer piece.
The budget retailer’s Long Sleeve Belted Denim Mini Dress looks almost identical to Australian fashion label Aje’s Dione style.
Both collared black denim dresses feature long balloon sleeves, buttons down the front, belt loops, side pockets and stitching details.
Despite the significant price difference, the cheaper dress lacks some key features – including Aje’s signature gold accent buttons and belt.
Aje is widely known for its high-quality materials, bold silhouettes, vibrant colors, and luxury pieces with unique prints.
Fashion blogger, known as Kmart Insider, shared her excitement over the affordable alternative to the high-end dress, which was so popular that it sold out everywhere.
‘Kmart sure Aje’d well. Losing it over this $38 dupe of the sold out Aje Dione Denim Dress that retailed for $445,’ the fashion blogger said on her Instagram.
Many customers couldn’t believe the similarities, with some suggesting it’s perfect for those who can’t afford to fork out hundreds of dollars on designer labels.

‘Wow, gorgeous,’ one said.
‘Unbelievable,’ another shared.
‘So cute,’ one added.
Meanwhile, one customer weighed in on the Kmart ‘dupe’ of Aje.
‘It’s a dupe, not a fake and while it’s nice, it’s not the same in a fashion sense. Details are what make something high-end and this just doesn’t have the details – but it comes at a cheaper price point,’ she explained.
Earlier this year, a $25 item from Kmart was flying off the shelves after shoppers discovered it looked similar to a $575 high-end version.
The budget retailer has been selling a pair of Buckle Slingback Ballet Flats, available in three colours – red, black and white – that closely resemble Ganni’s range of Feminine Buckle Ballerinas.

Both brands’ pointed-toe flats have similar features, including metal eyelet detailing, buckle-strap fastenings and low stacked heels.
Upon a closer look, Kmart’s shoes have a single row of metal eyelet detailing on each strap, while the Danish fashion brand’s off-white version has two rows.
‘We can’t get enough of this $25 Ganni lookalike from Kmart,’ Aussie fashion blogger behind Kmart Insider said on Instagram.
Bargain hunters have confirmed the cheaper flats are ‘so comfy’ while others shared that they were ‘running’ to Kmart to grab a pair.

‘The Kmart versions are amazing in these shoes. So good in fact they are selling out everywhere,’ one said.
‘I tried these on, they were really comfy,’ one said.
‘So cute,’ another added.
‘OMG I’m running,’ one shared.
Meanwhile, many were amazed by the colour options.
‘I have the white – find them comfy enough so have purchased the black… I may get the red when it’s in my Kmart,’ one shared.
‘What? They come in black and red as well? I only saw white,’ another said.
‘I wish I knew they were bringing black ones out. My Kmart only had white so I got them but would have preferred black,’ one explained.
‘Ooo I saw the red and white in store but not the black. Will have to check it out,’ another added.
