Mott reacts
Sovereignty’s trainer Bill Mott spoke to the press after his second Derby win, he said: “We got very lucky to get this one in the barn, and it’s just a really special feeling to win.”
Mott later added, “I never imagined coming to Kentucky. I never imagined being at Churchill Downs. It was a dream that was even too far away from me. And to be sitting up here and thinking back to 1967, it’s like going to outer space.”

Biles turns heads
Olympic legend Simone Biles attended the Kentucky Derby alongside her husband, Jonathan Owens.
Biles delivered a superb Riders Up monologue to build even more excitement for the Derby.
