Karnataka eyes investments of Rs 10 lakh crore at GIM, Rajnath Singh to inaugurate meet | Bangalore News

Eyeing investments of around Rs 10 lakh crore, the 2025 edition of the Global Investors Meet-Karnataka will kick off on February 11, with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh scheduled to inaugurate it in the evening. Among the guests in attendance will be Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who will launch a revamped single-window system introduced to speed up project clearances.

Among the key announcements expected at the summit, which will conclude on February 14, are a 200-acre Startup Park near Hubballi airport, which will accommodate over 400 startups, and a 1,200-acre Solar Cell Manufacturing and Agro-Tech Park at Tidagundi in Vijayapura district. The industries department has also announced sector-specific parks to attract investment during the summit.

Industries Minister M B Patil has said that an Advanced Pharma Park at Srinivasapura in Kolar district, a Solar Cell Manufacturing Plant and Food Park at Vijayapura, a Drone Park at Chitradurga, a Deep-Tech Park at Jangamakote in Chikkaballapur district, a Mega Logistics Park at Hanumanthapur near Dabaspete in Tumkur district, and EV Clusters in Chikkaballapura and Dharwad districts are among the sector-specific industrial parks.

Around 60 high-quality startups and industry leaders will showcase innovations in areas such as autonomous systems, carbon nanotubes, unmanned aerial vehicles, and advanced robotics. Nineteen country partners will engage in investment and trade discussions at the summit and nine country pavilions will showcase opportunities for bilateral cooperation and investment, according to the industries department.

“More than 10 country-specific sessions will focus on sustainable economic growth, Karnataka’s role in the global supply chain, renewable energy, healthcare, and other key sectors,” Patil told a news conference on Saturday.

The Invest Karnataka Awards, which will be launched on February 12, will recognise 14 industries for their contributions to the state’s economy. The Sunrise Sector Awards will honour excellence in aerospace and defence (public and private), automobile/electric vehicles, and biotech and life sciences. Additionally, special awards will recognise “Highest One-Time Investment” and “Pioneers in Global R&D”.

On February 13, the first-ever SME Awards will be presented to over 35 small and medium enterprises that have significantly contributed to industrial growth, innovation, and employment in Karnataka. There will also be district-specific awards and recognition for outstanding women entrepreneurs and sector excellence.
