Karachi Kings have made a high-profile addition to their coaching staff just days before the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 season begins, bringing in former Australian speedster Shaun Tait as their new fast bowling and assistant coach. The franchise confirmed the appointment through its social media platforms, welcoming the ex-Australian to their coaching circle.
With a pace battery that features Adam Milne, Abbas Afridi, and Mir Hamza, among others, Shaun Tait’s input will be invaluable for the Karachi Kings.
Tait, who has previously worked in various coaching roles worldwide — including a stint with Pakistan’s national team — will be part of a new-look coaching staff for the Karachi Kings this season.
The Aussie, renowned for his lethal pace, will serve as assistant coach under newly appointed head coach Ravi Bopara. The former England all-rounder replaces Phil Simmons, who departed the Kings to take charge of Bangladesh’s national team.
This fresh coaching duo reflects Karachi’s ambition to reset and challenge for honors in PSL X, bringing a mix of international experience, tactical nous, understanding of the PSL culture, and modern-day cricketing insight to the setup.
The changes for the Karachi Kings don’t stop in the dugout. The franchise, which pulled off one of the biggest signings in PSL history by recruiting David Warner, followed that up by handing the captaincy to the Australian superstar. Known worldwide for his aggressive batting style and fearless leadership, Warner will lead the Kings’ charge in what will be his debut season in the PSL.
Karachi Kings will begin their PSL campaign on April 12 with a home fixture at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi, against the 2021 champions, Multan Sultans.
