Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who is now a politician, responded angrily to the encounter on Instagram, denouncing Sonam’s purported behaviour and labelling her “dumb.”
In a shocking development, Sonam Raghuwanshi has been arrested in connection with the murder of Raja Raghuwanshi, a newlywed from Indore who was killed during his honeymoon in Meghalaya. Following intense pressure from the authorities, Sonam surrendered to the police in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, late on Sunday night.
The couple was reported missing on May 23 after travelling to Meghalaya to celebrate their honeymoon after being married just days earlier in Madhya Pradesh. Sadly, on June 2, Raja’s body was found close to Weisawdong Falls. According to the authorities, Sonam hired contract murderers to kill her husband while they were travelling.
According to Meghalaya Police, Sonam turned himself up late on Sunday night at the Nandganj police station in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, after increasing pressure. According to the authorities, she hired assassins to kill her husband as part of a murderous scheme.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma acknowledged the police’s swift progress in the case. He stated in an X post, “Within 7 days a major breakthrough has been achieved by the #meghalayapolice in the Raja murder case … 3 assailants who are from Madhya Pradesh have been arrested, female has surrendered and operation still on to catch 1 more assailant .. well done #meghalayapolice.”

Expressing disbelief, Kangana wrote, “How absurd is this !! Woman can’t say no to marriage because she is scared of her own parents, but she can plan a cold-blooded murder with supari killers. This has been on my mind since morning, but not able to wrap my head around it !!! Uuffff getting a headache now!! She couldn’t even divorce or run away with her lover. How cruel, heinous and above all absurd and dumb.”
“Dumb people should never be taken lightly they are the biggest threat to any society… we often laugh at them and think they are harmless but it’s not true, intelligent people may damage others for their own good but remember a dumb person has no idea what they are doing !!! Be aware very aware of dumbness around you (sic),” she further added.
For those who are unaware, Sonam Raghuwanshi is the main suspect in the heinous murder of her husband, Raja Raghuwanshi, who was purportedly killed while on their honeymoon after she employed contract killers to commit the crime.
