Jimmy Butler trade update with two NBA rivals fighting for indefinitely suspended star who wants out

TWO NBA rivals are reportedly fighting for Jimmy Butler after he was indefinitely suspended by the Miami Heat.

The six-time NBA All-Star has made no secret of his desire to leave the Floridian team.

Butler had already been given a seven-game suspension earlier this month after declaring his intention to quit Miami.

And after missing a team flight, Butler was then hit with a two-game ban by his team.

However, the star has now been grounded indefinitely as questions swirl over his immediate future.

Butler is currently missing out on $340,000 for every game he doesn’t play in.

And the Heat are now said to be in talks with two NBA rivals over a stunning trade.

According to ESPN, both the Golden State Warriors and the Phoenix Suns are hoping to prise Butler away from Miami.

They are big fans of the 35-year-old small forward.

And should Butler join either of them, it would represent his fifth team in the NBA.

He has already played for the Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves and Philadelphia 76ers.

A move to either the Warriors or Suns would see Butler enter the Western Conference for just the second time in his career.

NBA legend Vince Carter reckons Heat need to axe Butler as quickly as possible to keep their playoff dream alive.

He said: “I think they’re understanding that he’s not willing to comply.

“He’s making his statement. He’s trying his best to get moved.

“Now that you see that he’s not coming around, it’s time to make the best decision for your organization and move on because it’s becoming a distraction.

“They still have a chance to still be in the playoffs and compete.

“The sooner you get rid of the problem or fix the problem, I feel like the better you will be.”
