Fans of the iconic 007 franchise reckon they’ve stumbled upon a significant clue that Tom Holland could be next in line to play James Bond.

The 28 year old actor, famed for his Spider-Man role, has emerged as a top contender, with some suggesting that Hollywood producer Amy Pascal might hold the key to his casting.

Pascal, the ex-chairwoman of Sony Pictures and producer of the Spider-Man films, has collaborated with Tom for years, playing an instrumental role in his entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

She produced Spider-Man: Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home, and also contributed to the Uncharted movie.

Now, with whispers suggesting that Pascal could be involved in overseeing the Bond franchise for Amazon and MGM Studios, fans are speculating that this could pave the way for Tom to step into Daniel Craig’s shoes.

Chatter on Reddit has fuelled further excitement, with one user observing: “It’s funny how everything seems to be moving towards Tom Holland being the new Bond, it’s like Hollywood is waiting for him to turn 30. Sorry, but with Amy Pascal at the helm, it’s definitely a possibility lol.”

Another user proposed: “Maybe a fresh take on 007 with his license to kill.

“Plus, his youth means he won’t be the ‘old man’ Bond for a while.”, reports the Mirror.

However, some fans remain doubtful, with one pointing out, “He’s 5’6″. I really don’t see it happening.”

Another retorted, “I don’t think height matters here, but he’s already the face of two major franchises. “”.

Bond aficionado Mark O’Connell has hinted that the world might get a glimpse of the new face set to embody the timeless character by this summer.

Speaking on LBC radio, he shared his hope for Bond to continue being portrayed by a Brit and suggested they may go for an emerging talent over a big name.

“Henry Cavill could be back in the running now. Amazon’s choice might be different from the Broccolis,” he said, also hinting at rising stars like Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Harris Dickinson to keep an eye out for.

Despite swirling speculation regarding the destiny of the renowned spy series, it’s been affirmed that James Bond will persist as a British bloke.

When Amazon took over the reins of the franchise with a hefty £770 million deal, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G.

Wilson – who have long been the custodians of 007’s legacy – were adamant that Bond would preserve his UK roots and masculinity.

A source close to the situation has soothed fans’ worries by confirming Amazon’s dedication to maintaining the quintessential elements of James Bond.

“Amazon is committed to keeping the spirit of Bond alive, and that means he has to be British or from the Commonwealth-and he has to be male,” they confirmed.

At the helm of the Bond realm, Barbara Broccoli, aged 64, and Michael G. Wilson, aged 83, took the helm from their father and stepfather Albert ‘Cubby’ Broccoli after he acquired the cinematic rights from creator Ian Fleming back in 1961.

The illustrious franchise has since launched 25 films, depicting Bond as the dashing, cocktail-sipping saviour who invariably triumphs over adversaries and enchants the ladies.
