IT engineer murders 3 yr old son after quarrel with wife | Pune News

Pune city police arrested an IT engineer for allegedly murdering his three-year-old son following a dispute with his wife.

Police identified the deceased boy as Himmat Madhav Tiketi. His father, Madhav Sadhurao Tiketi, 38, a resident of Ratan Prestige in Chandan Nagar, has been arrested on charges of murder, police said.

A first information report (FIR) was lodged at Chandan Nagar police station Friday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Himmat Jadhav said that the Tiketi family hails from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Police said Madhav Tiketi is an IT engineer, but had been unemployed for for the last couple of months. On Thursday, he had a dispute with his wife and a quarrel ensued, following which he left the house that afternoon and didn’t return.

His wife went to Chandan Nagar police station that night to file a missing person’s report. During investigation, based on clubes obtained from videos captured by CCTV cameras at different locations, cops confirmed that Madhav left home with his son. But after a while, he was seen without his son. The probe also revelated that Madhav had purchased a knife and a blade from a shop after he left home with his son, stated a press release issued by senior police inspector Seema Dhakane of Chandan Nagar police station.

Police then intensified their search for Madhav and found him in a drunken state at a hotel. Cops took him into custody and questioned him about his son. Police said Madhav allegedly took his son to a secluded spot, where he allegedly slit his throat with a knife and then dumped the dead body in the bushes.

A police team recovered the dead body of the boy aged three years and four months from the spot. Police have booked Madhav under sections 103 (1), 238 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
