New Delhi: It seems that the tensions between Israel and Hamas are far from over, even though a ceasefire was announced between the two parties this morning. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, Israel killed 72 people even after the ceasefire announcement. These attacks took place today. Additionally, in the past 24 hours, Israel has been accused of killing 81 people, most of whom died in Israeli airstrikes.

This raises questions about whether a real ceasefire between Israel and Hamas will take place. It is important to note Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is yet to comment on the allegations. However, Israel has accused Hamas of backing away from certain aspects of the ceasefire agreement.

On Thursday, Israel stated that it is not yet accurate to say that a ceasefire has been achieved. The reason is that Hamas is retreating from some points of the agreement. As a result, the 15-month-long conflict does not appear to be fully over.

Following this statement, multiple attacks occurred throughout the day in Hamas-controlled areas of Gaza. Reports indicate that 81 people have been killed in these attacks. It is worth noting that U.S. President Donald Trump is also making efforts to mediate a ceasefire.

Netanyahu Makes Big Statement

In a big statement, Netanyahu stated that Hamas has not yet accepted the ceasefire. Many of the agreements outlined under the ceasefire have not been implemented by Hamas so far. On October 7, 2023, Hamas infiltrated Israel’s borders and launched an attack.

This assault resulted in the deaths of 700 Israelis, and many others were abducted. The ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel has claimed 46,788 lives so far, with over 110,000 people injured. The war has been so devastating that approximately 5 million people have been forced to leave their homes and flee.
