Professionals like Sam, Natasha and Gareth set the standard and are leading the way with their expertise and passion. Our promotions, right across the business, reflect the fantastic breadth and depth of skills and experience we have in the team, which propels us forward to deliver outstanding results for our clients.”
Sam Birchall is a corporate finance and restructuring specialist, leading Interpath’s special situations M&A practice across the UK. He has worked on some of the most significant restructuring and distressed M&A transactions in recent years.
Birchill said in a personal post on LinkedIn, “I’m happy to share my promotion to managing director at Interpath… Excited for the journey ahead and look forward to growing our incredible team alongside Natasha Harbinson and Gareth Slater.”
Natasha Harbinson is a leading figure in Interpath’s London restructuring team and has more than 12 years’ experience advising companies in stress and distress, including experience working lender-side. She most recently advised on OutsideClinic’s restructuring plan which was sanctioned by the court on 28 March 2025 – one of the first instances in which HMRC has voted in favour of a restructuring plan under which it is compromised.
In a LinkedIn post, Harbinson said, “Today marks a career milestone as I am promoted to managing director and will shortly be taking up my insolvency license. I’m grateful to the Interpath team in particular Will Wright and Steve Absolom who brought me in from my former life in lending only 6 short years ago and whose support has allowed me to accelerate in my career while only rarely missing the nursery run!”
Gareth Slater has more than 25 years’ experience in restructuring and related fields across London and the South West regions, and has been core to the successful outcomes on a number of high-profile, Interpath-led restructurings in recent years, including the £700 million sale of Toucan Energy’s solar portfolio to Schroders Greencoat.
Slater commented via a LinkedIn post, “I’m also thrilled to announce that I’ve been asked to head up our Bristol office. It is a privilege to lead the Interpath team in the region and am excited about the opportunity to support companies across the South West and Wales as they face into critical business decisions whether it’s through restructuring or our fast-growing advisory team.”
