New Delhi: India is a big military power, and it has two hostile neighbours, China and Pakistan. On the one hand India and China are engaged in a complicated tussle over the LAC, Ladakh, and Arunachal Pradesh, Pakistan is troubling India by supporting and sponsoring terrorism to harm India. Pakistan receives support from China and Turkey. Turkey has started using Pakistan to gain dominance in the Islamic world. Turkey not only makes controversial and provocative statements over Kashmir, but also supplies weapons to Pakistan.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited Islamabad this month and he promised to sell combat drones to Pakistan which is not a god news for New Delhi.

Turkey’s main objective in being friends with Pakistan is to sell its military hardware and earn big profits. Turkey is well aware of the hostile relations between the two neighbours and utilises the situation for its benefit.

While Turkey instigates Pakistan against India, then India too can inflict heavy damage om Turkey. According to experts, India should start supporting and helping the Kurds whom Turkey considers its enemy. Their conflict has been going on for decades as the Kurds demand their own country and preserve their identity. India can use this situation to target Ankara which will weaken or stop its military help to Islamabad.

India can help the Kurd rebels by providing them with training, money, intelligence, and weapons to fight Turkish military. One of the most conducive regions could be northeastern Syria, where the Kurds have established their most successful bases. With the help of India, the Kurds can thwart attacks from Turkey and launch counterattacks.

India may allow Kurdish political leaders to open offices in New Delhi or some other metropolitan just like Paris and Brussels, where the Kurds have political offices. France and Belgium rejected Turkey’s demand to close those offices.

Linguistically, Kurds are very close to the Baloch people of Pakistan, and they are liberal, not radical.
