IMF Pushes Pakistan for Digitalization of Land Records, Set to Meet SC Representatives 

The International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) mission visiting Pakistan for conducting a Governance and Corruption Diagnostic Assessment has urged the government to digitalize land records. 

Sources informed ProPakistani that the mission held meetings with heads of key government institutions on Monday. 

The mission was briefed on measures being taken to crackdown against dubious transactions and money laundering. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) officials briefed the mission on measures being taken regarding digitalization, smuggling and tax evasion. 

The mission also met with officials from the Federal Land Commission, Financial Monitoring Unit, National Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism Authority (AML/CFT), Cabinet Division, Finance Division and Ministry of Law and Justice.  

The mission is set to meet officials from he Judicial Commission of Pakistan and Supreme Court of Pakistan. The mission will be briefed regarding the procedure for appointment of judges and other related matters. 

Moreover, a meeting is also expected with officials from the Auditor General of Pakistan.
