Patriots defensive coordinator Terrell Williams, who recently returned from health issues from the team’s rookie minicamp in June, suffered a medical issue on the training grounds behind Gillette Stadium.
The 51-year-old reportedly collapsed on the sideline during Monday’s workouts.
A stretcher was brought out after Williams fell ill, per Boston reporter Pat Lane.
Fortunately, Williams was able to get up on his power and eventually leave on the cart.
Inside linebackers coach Zak Kuhl then took over play-calling duties for the rest of the practice.
The Patriots later announced that Williams experienced dehydration during Monday’s workouts and is doing well.
It’s believed his early exit from practice wasn’t due to the medical problem he recently endured.
Williams hasn’t revealed the nature of the health issue.
He was hired by the Patriots back in January.
Head coach Mike Vrabel spoke about his undisclosed illness last month.
“Big T is here, ready to go. He’s been out on the field with us the last couple of days,” Vrabel told reporters
“Players were excited to see him.
“I was excited to see him, and we’ll move forward.”
Williams has been a defensive coach since entering the college ranks in 1998.

He made his NFL coaching debut in 2012 with the Oakland Raiders.
Williams was previously a coach for the Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans, and Detroit Lions.
He rejoined the former Titans head coach, Vrabel, earlier this year.
New England will look to improve from their disappointing 4-13 campaign in 2024.
