A man has been handed an extended prison sentence after physically and sexually assaulting a woman in a holiday park.

Ben Marshall, 34, from Albion Street, Rochdale, faced Caernarfon Crown Court earlier this month over the assault which took place in Towyn, North Wales, in March.

Police responded to reports of a disturbance at the White House Leisure Park on March 23.

They discovered the victim suffered significant facial injuries after being punched by Marshall before he sexually attacked her. He was found nearby, reports Wales Online.

He was arrested and charged with multiple offences including assault by penetration, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation, and harassment, with the victim also alleging sexual assault.

He later admitted to all the charges in court and was sentenced to 12 years and three months in prison.

“North Wales Police maintains a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of violence against women and girls.
