It requires Form CJP 27 — changing one’s name, that is — which is something the next owner of this condo might consider. Some candidates: Zeus. Athena. Hercules.

The reason? This 43-unit condo complex was created out of a Classical Revival-style,Greek temple-like church built in 1926 that still has a front entry of three wide steps of granite, four massive limestone columns, a pediment, and a raking cornice of limestone. It was a Catholic church until about 2004, and was converted into residential housing in 2008.

Boston magazine — which is now owned by The Boston Globe — recently named Cambridge the top place to live in Greater Boston, and this Cambridgeport condo checks all the boxes.

This unit is built into the pediment, and from the living room, a wooden door with glass windows opens to a Juliet balcony with views of those columns and the egg-and-dart moulding.

Take the elevator to the walk-through for this fourth-floor duplex, starting with the entry door that leads to an open floor plan for the first of two levels in the home. The stairwell to the upper level is on the immediate left, but ahead is the kitchen, dining area, and living room that together create a wonderful setting embellished by the cherry flooring.

The 185-square-foot kitchen is galley style, which makes it an efficient space for the cook in the family. On the left is a bilevel counter with multiple outlets and the sink. On the other side of the counter is seating for three. On the left side is the refrigerator, gas range with an above-range microwave, and more counter space. The cabinets are cherry and the backsplash is multi-colored mini subway tile.

The kitchen flows into a dining area that is defined by a circular light fixture hanging from the ceiling. A large black-framed double-hung window on the exterior wall throws its light onto the dining table, with currently has seating for six.

Here is a reason to stop and gawk. A wooden doorway holding large slabs of clear glass opens to the private deck. It provides an excellent perch to mull divine thoughts — or sip coffee in the morning.

The living room completes the open floor plan area. It’s 400 square feet and along the right side, there’s a trio of windows, all of which can be opened. Adjacent is a stand-alone window perfect for a potted plant. There is recessed lighting.

Formed from the bell tower, there is now a 47-square-foot windowless office.

The living room moves past the door to the Juliet balcony and ends in a 35-square-foot half bath with tile flooring and a single vanity.

On the upper level is the primary suite, the second full bath with a laundry closet, the second bedroom, and a hallway closet.

The 204-square-foot primary bedroom is on the left side of this level. It’s carpeted, has recessed lighting, and a support beam crossing the ceiling. Natural light comes from a set of three windows inset into the thick walls.

Two steps leads up to the closet that was formed from the original pediment, making it seem more like a small stage than a placid place for storage. It’s 26 feet long and shelving is located at either end.

The primary bath is just on the left of the entry. It’s 52 square feet and it has a single white vanity with a counter. Directly ahead and behind the clear glass door is the shower with a rectangular shower head. The backsplash and floor is mosaic tile and the walls are slabs of tile.

The second bedroom is 166 square feet, has carpeted flooring, and its own set of black-framed windows on the exterior wall. The closet is a standard design with a single door.

The second full bath is 103 square feet and has a pair of white porcelain pedestal sinks, tile flooring, and a shower/bath combination with a white subway tile backsplash. Shower splash is reduced by the use of a half-glass shower door.

This home comes with a concierge, an assigned and deeded underground parking space, private storage space, and access to a courtyard, gym, and shared rooftop.
