Heartbreak, press conferences, and a 0K demand: American woman’s ‘love story’ takes chaotic turn in Pakistan | World News

What started as a fairy-tale online romance quickly spiraled into an international spectacle, leaving social media in stitches and confusion.

Onijah Andrew Robinson, a 33-year-old mother of four from New York, crossed continents for love—only to find herself abandoned, outraged, and demanding $100,000 from the Pakistani government.

Robinson had fallen for 19-year-old Nidal Ahmed Memon, a Pakistani teenager she met online. Convinced that their love was fate, she packed her bags and traveled across the world and arrived in Karachi on October 11 last year to marry Memon.

But instead of wedding bells, she was met with an entirely different reality: Memon’s parents, disapproving of their son’s relationship with an older foreign woman, allegedly took matters into their own hands. Reports suggest that they fled their home, taking Memon with them and leaving Robinson stranded, according to Arab News.

Refusing to return home, she spent nearly 30 hours outside his apartment before moving to a Chhipa shelter, Dawn reported.

Devastated but determined, Robinson refused to back down. Instead, she held press conferences on the streets of Pakistan over months, declaring both her love and her outrage.

Videos circulating online show her passionately laying out demands—not just for Memon, but for an overhaul of Pakistan’s infrastructure.

“My plan is to rebuild this entire country,” Robinson declared. “I’m asking for $100k, and I need $20k in cash by the end of this week. That’s my demand to the government,” she told journalists.

“The government needs to fix these streets… it’s ridiculous here, I don’t like it. You all need to understand that Pakistan needs new buses, taxis, and cars.” she added.

But that wasn’t the only bombshell. Robinson, who had traveled with hopes of marriage, dropped another shocking revelation. Robinson said that she Memon are already married and they have decided to move to Dubai soon and have a baby.

“I am married to Nidal Ahmed, I am Onijah Ahmed. We will move to Dubai soon and have our babies in Dubai,” she said.

However, whenever questioned about her family’s whereabouts, she says it is a private matter and that sharing such details would go against her religion – Islam.

Pakistani authorities have remained silent on Robinson’s demands. Whether her relationship with Memon was genuine or whether she fell victim to an elaborate online hoax remains unclear.

Meanwhile, adding another layer to the story, Robinson’s son, Jeremiah Andrew Robinson, stated that his mother struggled with bipolar disorder and other mental health issues. He added that his sibling also attempted to persuade her to return to the US, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

Following these claims, Robinson was admitted to the psychiatry department at Karachi’s Jinnah Postgraduate Hospital for a mental health evaluation.

Earlier this week, Onijah staged a sit-in outside Memon’s apartment building, leading the administration to lock the flat’s doors, Geo News reported. Soon after, curious onlookers gathered to catch a glimpse of the American woman.

When asked by Geo News why she wasn’t leaving, she responded, “If y’all dropping no bread by next week, I think I should leave.”

After all this, one thing is certain—Robinson’s Pakistani adventure is one for the history books, and the internet can’t get enough of it.
