The Met Office issues weather warnings of varying severities for a range of phenomena including rain, snow, hail, fog, ice, wind and thunderstorms, which are in place across the country today.

According to the Met Office’s forecast for north west England on Monday (July 21), there will be “heavy showers” across the region interspersed with some sunny spells. They warned that the showers are likely to be “thundery” at times, with the risk of hail and “gusty winds” too.

Despite the wet and stormy conditions, it is set to feel warm and humid too, along with “very high” UV (ultra violet) levels. The temperature is forecast to reach highs of 22C and lows of 15C in Greater Manchester.
