The actor updated his millions of followers with some celebratory news as he welcomed his first child
Gossip Girl actor Ed Westwick announced the birth of his first child with wife Amy Jackson as he made a heartfelt tribute for his followers to see.
Ed first rose to fame after appearing on the hit American TV series Gossip Girl as rich schoolboy Chuck Bass. He also had roles in the comedy series White Gold, Son of Rambow, and Chalet Girl.
Ed and Amy, who met at the Silverstone motor racing circuit in 2021, got engaged at the end of January 2024 and celebrated their wedding over three days in Italy in August 2024.
They were legally married in an intimate ceremony in London, with Amy wearing a vintage Chanel dress and custom-made Maison Michel hat, before flying out to the Amalfi Coast for the celebrations, the couple told Vogue Italy.
The wedding day was hosted at 16th-century castle Castello di Rocca Cilento with panoramic views of the sea. At the time of their wedding, Amy wrote: “What an unforgettable weekend. Our farewell brunch with friends and family was everything we could have hoped for.”
Amy already has a child from a previous relationship, but this will be her first shared child with Ed. Taking to Instagram, Ed posted a series of black and white snaps including one where he can be see holding his son’s hand.
He wrote: “Welcome to the world, baby boy. Oscar Alexander Westwick” followed by a love heart. Amy took to her own Instagram story to repost the carousel, as she added: “The best feeling in the world” followed by an adorable snap of her new baby cuddled up to her son, Dre.
Ed himself also wrote on his story: “Words cannot express the wonder.” Stars were quick to share their support as they flocked to the comments. Former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan wrote: “Congratulations my darling”.
Michelle and husband Mark Wright welcomed their first child earlier in Marc, alongside a black and white photo of them holding their newborn’s hand on Instagram, Michelle and Mark said: “Together we have a new love to share … Our little girl. Palma Elizabeth Wright… 06.03.25.”
Strictly Come Dancing’s Zara McDermott also commented: “Congratulations beautiful couple” as journalist Stacey Dooley wrote: “Bahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!”
