This year’s Glastonbury Festival is just months away – but some attendees are already disappointed to learn that a huge band will not be performing at the event
People are annoyed that Glastonbury Festival organisers haven’t named a huge band in this year’s line-up.
Ahead of the beloved Worthy Farm event, people have taken to Reddit to complain about one group being omitted. The band, having previously graced the Glastonbury stage with a headlining performance, is set to embark on a tour this year after a series of electrifying reunion gigs worldwide.
They are also gearing up for their first album release in over twenty years, coinciding with the upcoming festival period. Despite fresh announcements from the group, Worthy Farm attendees will likely have to go without seeing the iconic group.
A gutted fan posted on Reddit: “No Pulp. There goes that dream.” Despite Jarvis Cocker, Pulp’s iconic frontman, confirming his presence at the festival, he has made clear that there are no plans for the 90s hitmakers to perform at Glastonbury this time round.
Pulp isn’t slowing down though, with a jam-packed itinerary featuring sell-out shows in the UK and European festival appearances. They’re even slated for a marquee performance alongside LCD Soundsystem at the Hollywood Bowl in LA.
The failure to secure Pulp for Glastonbury has left many broken-hearted, with one Reddit user writing: “Of all the absentees this year, this one feels the most egregious. How did they not tie them down?”
Whereas another voiced their preference directly: “Pulp instead of The 1975 would’ve made for a perfect headlining trio.”

Fresh off releasing the lead single ‘Spike Island’ last Thursday (April 10), frontman Jarvis Cocker has spilled the beans regarding his presence at this year’s festival, with plans for a DJ session.
He shared his festival agenda, saying: “I will be going to Glastonbury and I might DJ. Well you know, I do occasionally DJ at Glastonbury in a place called Stone Bridge near the Park Stage. I will be happy to see what is going on there.”
Cocker jokingly hinted that only a dire emergency would bring Pulp back to headline Glastonbury this year, as he said on BBC Radio 2: “If it was a life-or-death situation, but I really don’t think it’s going to happen.”
