Giving Kmart a run for their money: Target shoppers go wild over ‘dupe’ of 5 designer buy

Fashion-conscious shoppers are obsessing over a new $50 item from Target that Aussie fans are calling a ‘dupe’ for a $985 designer buy.

The Denim Flounce Jacket by Lily Loves has landed in stores, and shoppers can’t help but notice its similarities to US fashion label Ulla Johnson’s Mathilde denim shirt.

Both indigo-blue statement pieces, made from cotton, appear almost identical with their ruffle details, round collared neckline, cuffed sleeves and front button fastening.

The affordable option offers shoppers a luxury feel without the hefty price tag.

Bargain hunters pointed out Target’s jacket was perfect for those who can’t afford to splurge on high-end brands.

An Aussie fashion blogger, known as Kmart Insider, couldn’t agree more, suggesting the budget-friendly version is a great affordable alternative.

‘The Target one has all the flounce without ruffling up your bank account,’ she said in an Instagram post.

The blogger said she loves how Target has ‘more structure’ than the expensive version.

Last month, a budget-friendly trench from Target made waves in the fashion world, with shoppers calling it the perfect alternative to a designer leather coat costing more than $1,400.

The Lily Loves faux leather trench coat ($80) is being compared to St Agni’s $1,459 Leather Trench due to its sleek long-line design, double-breasted cut, and classic belted waist.

Target has wowed shoppers with on-trend pieces, including its $80 faux leather trench coat

While the designer version is crafted from buttery-soft lamb leather, Target’s more affordable option is made from a leather-look polyurethane blend – giving it a luxe aesthetic without the hefty price tag.

The coat, available in deep chocolate and burgundy, is quickly becoming a winter wardrobe staple, with shoppers raving about its quality, fit, and versatility.

Fashion content creator Sharna Isabella was among the first to spot the hidden gem, sharing her excitement in a viral video.

‘Who was going to tell me that Target has seriously stepped up their jacket game?’ she said.

‘You can’t tell me that you wouldn’t find these cute options in places like Zara or even Dissh for double the price.’

She was so impressed that she bought the piece immediately.

‘I couldn’t resist the long coat, and as I was walking out, I noticed they had it in a burgundy as well – so I bought it,’ she added.
