‘Tank’ puts his WBA lightweight title on the line against his fellow American in his first fight since retaining the belt with an eighth-round knockout of Frank Martin in Las Vegas last summer.

Now he will take on Roach in a bout that was initially expected to happen in Houston in mid-December, only to be pushed back and rescheduled.

Roach is the current WBA super-featherweight champion, having won his maiden world title with a split-decision victory over Hector Luis Garcia before successfully defending it for the first time with an eighth-round stoppage of Ireland’s Feargal McCrory in a homecoming fight in Washington D.C. last June.

The 29-year-old has rattled off six straight wins since suffering the lone defeat of his professional career so far on the cards against Jamel Herring in 2019, but will now have his work cut out as he moves up in weight as a massive underdog in a first pro showdown with his former amateur opponent, seeking to become a two-division world champion against the odds.

Gervonta Davis vs Lamont Roach takes place on Saturday March 1, 2025 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Main event ring walks are expected at around 3am GMT in the UK in the early hours of Sunday morning, which is 10pm ET and 7pm PT on Saturday night in the United States.

The main undercard should start at approximately 1am GMT, 8pm ET and 5pm PT, with the prelims from 11pm GMT, 6pm ET and 3pm PT.
