Gera Patel to move on from Campbell Tickell after 17 years

In June 2025, Campbell Tickell is set to bid farewell to Gera Patel, after 17 years of dedicated service. Commenting on her impact on the business, James Tickell, partner at the firm, praised her “tireless” efforts to “support hundreds of organisations” in her time there.

Tickell went on, “She has made a habit of hugely exceeding clients’ expectations through her dedication and quality of work. We will sincerely miss her and have every confidence in our 15-strong HR and recruitment team who will continue building our strong services in these areas.”

Working in the not-for-profit/social housing sector for over 30 years, Patel joined Campbell Tickell as a senior consultant in 2008, rapidly becoming a partner. When she first arrived, the firm’s HR and recruitment activity of the practice was small. But according to a release from the firm, Patel’s work “transformed the service offer to clients, driving sustained growth and quality across leadership recruitment”.

As Patel steps back from those responsibilities, she noted that she would continue to support Campbell Tickell as an associate consultant – while also exploring “new avenues”.

She added, “I have loved working at CT. We have brilliant colleagues, and I’ve always been proud of our work. You can continue to access high-quality and value for money services from CT, and the service offers will further evolve and innovate. The team remains well-positioned to support our clients in responding effectively to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. I am proud to be leaving a hard-working, dedicated, and fantastic team; and I will miss them hugely.”

Looking ahead, Gemma Prescot, the firm’s recently promoted director of recruitment, will lead Campbell Tickell’s permanent and interim recruitment service and HR consultancy. Joining in 2016, she has worked in the recruitment industry for nearly 20 years, and has extensive experience in local government, housing, education, health, private sector and charities. Her work has been central in building the high performing recruitment team.

Speaking on her predecessor, Prescot said, “Gera’s leadership will be sorely missed at CT. I’m proud and excited to continue building on her legacy to strengthen our recruitment and people work streams and continue delivering impactful and valuable services for all our clients.”

Elsewhere, the firm was also happy to announce the appointment of new senior consultant for people and HR. Clare Sion – a highly experienced consultant with 26 years in HR, organisational development and business transformation – has worked in senior roles across the public sector tackling a range of people matters.
