Shark Tank India is set to return for a fourth season on Monday, and an extended new promo video has teased glimpses of what fans can expect. The new season will feature a couple of new ‘sharks’, and an earlier promo video already teased the altercation that returning ‘shark’ Aman Gupta got into with the season’s newcomer Kunal Bahl. This season will feature entrepreneur of all ages, pitching their companies to the panel with great enthusiasm and optimism. The four-minute video shows tiny glimpses of several different pitches, with many entrepreneurs leaving the ‘sharks’ mightily impressed with their spirit and ideas.

The popular YouTuber Gaurav Taneja will appear on the show this season to pitch his whey protein brand. His partner said that they were able to make sales worth Rs 1 crore in an hour, even though their website is password protected. “That is a dream for a lot of businesses,” said an impressed Aman Gupta. “Oh my God,” said Vineeta Singh, equally impressed.

The ‘sharks’ were also pleasantly surprised by the number of entrepreneurs who came from smaller towns and villages. Kunal Bahl said, “Startup founders in our country have a certain impression, and you people are shattering it.” Other pitchers left the ‘sharks’ stunned by high demands. “Hum pagal hain kya (Are we mad)?” Aman said, after an entrepreneur presented a Rs 250 crore valuation. Later, another team of entrepreneurs presented a valuation of Rs 300 crore for their brand, leaving the ‘sharks’ in disbelief.

But some pitches were also able to elicit bidding wars. Kunal offered a team to single-handedly complete their fundraising round with a Rs 4 crore deal. To another group of entrepreneurs, he offered Rs 8 crore. Aman was taken aback by his bullish approach, and the two even had a war of words. “This is your first time on Shark Tank,” he said, and Kunal replied, “But this isn’t my first time making deals. I’ve made more deals than you.”

The video also showed a glimpse of a pitch for an AI-powered device that can record every conversation that the wearer has, and can compile data about every acquaintance and friend. Anupam Mittal spoiled the outcome of this pitch slightly, when, in a recent interview, he revealed that he has already invested in the company. “I’m actually the founding investor in a company that has created a locket… Significantly advanced technology is no different than magic. Two kids have made this. You wear it on your neck, it listens to all your conversations, recognises who you’re talking to based on their voice. It has access to your email and contact book. Based on that, I can just look at an app on my phone, and it will tell me exactly what we spoke about the last time, and what I should be talking to you about next,” he said in an interview with Himesh Madaan.
