Freddie Prinze Jr. Shares Update On Racheal Leigh Cook Onscreen Reunion

Following his onscreen reunion with Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr. is preparing to reunite with another leading lady.

On the red carpet of Monday’s I Know What You Did Last Summer premiere, in which the actor reprises his role as Ray Bronson, the actor told Deadline he’s filming his upcoming holiday romantic-comedy The Christmas Affair, alongside She’s All That (1999) co-star Rachael Leigh Cook, this October and November in New York City.

“I’m really excited to film with her again,” he told me. “She’s one of my closest friends, I love her to death, she’s like a sister to me. I know her kids, she knows my kids. We’ve been close ever since that first movie, and I don’t know why it’s taken us this long to work together again but it did.”

Although the pair is known for their ’99 teen movie take on George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion, Prinze Jr. and Cook first appeared together in Mark Waters’ 1997 cult classic The House of Yes.

Deadline exclusively revealed the film in May, starring Cook and Prinze Jr. as superstar sportscasters Natalie and Gabe, who form an unlikely alliance after their spouses are caught cheating weeks before Christmas. As holiday chaos and media attention mount, they begin to fall for each other. But is this just a rebound… or the start of a real Christmas romance?

The Christmas Affair also marks the pair’s reunion with She’s All That co-producer Jennifer Gibgot, who is producing for Fox Entertainment Studios.

Although Cook and She’s All That co-star Matthew Lillard previously appeared in Waters’ 2021 gender-swapped reboot He’s All That, Prinze Jr. was not in attendance for the reunion.
