Forest-Nestled Dynamic Residences : q88 residence

Montreal-based design firm Ménard Dworkind has just completed the Q8 Residence, which is defined by its blocky structure. The space is wrapped in a cedar material, and the purpose is to immerse residents into the calmness of the forest in Quebec. It is comprised of a range of staggering structures that are differentiated by various exterior cladding materials in a stacked form.

The co-founder of Ménard Dworkind, David Dworkind speaks to Dezeen about the project, noting “A major focus on orientation and choosing where to maximise and minimise glazing as well as a careful material selection and strategic spatial arrangements helps the home foster this strong connection to nature while providing a warm, open, and functional living environment.”
